Rodney put great store by first impressions, which was why it annoyed him that he didn't remember his first impression of Radek Zelenka. It was like Radek had sneaked into his life, with his quiet voice, filthy Czech swear words, and tendency to send Marines into a quivering mass of intellectual inadequacy even faster than Rodney could. If he'd known Radek was going to be so important, he'd have paid more attention. It's too late now, he told himself, and unhooked a diagnostic tool from it's case.

"Zmrde zkurvenej!" Radek glared at the Puddlejumper's docking controls.

"What does that one mean?" Rodney asked. He'd picked up a few Eastern European phrases through the years, but that was new.

"Uh... 'you fucking son of a bitch', more or less."

"Oooh, good one. I'll have to remember that."

Radek grinned. "Remember this one, it is useful when meeting important people. 'Vyliz mi prdel'."

Rodney wasn't an idiot, there was no way he was going to say that to anyone before he'd looked it up. "Just how obscene is that?"

Radek waggled his eyebrows and made a suggestive tongue gesture.

McKay decided that was going to take the place of the missing first impression.
