Title: Caspian's Care
After a few hundred years together Caspian realises that he cares about his 'brothers'. It's an odd feeling, knowing that if someone took their heads he'd be angry and maybe... upset. He doesn't like the feeling, so he does what he does best: he fights it. They're all equal, all brothers, but Kronos is the leader. Caspian knows this as surely as he knows Methos can control Kronos if he cares to put the effort into it. So Caspian kills Kronos's favourite slave girl, just to prove he can; then backs off fast before he finds out if Kronos dislikes the idea of his bothers dying too. Silas has always been easy to torment. Caspian's little barbs have more hook to them now though. Caspian tires of it after not too long, there's no challenge there. Silas growls and yells, and ten minutes later he's all smiles and happiness again. It's no fun putting down someone who's already below you in the pecking order. Caspian never likes taking his time, but Methos isn't easy to annoy. There's some part of him that's untouchable, like he's only watching life, instead of taking part in it. Eventually Caspian gives up trying to find a crack in Methos's composure, and just leans over one night and bites off his ear. |
